Inspiration #10

The things that interested me this week were all over the map. From typography to geometric design to packaging:

1. Map of ancient courses of the Mississippi River, Cape Girardeau, MO by Harold N.Fisk, 1944. (Pinterest)

2. I love how the type interacts with the photo (Pinterest)

3. Organized chaos. I love how the different layers of circles affect the layers above and below following no particular rules (Pinterest)

4. This packaging elevates the standard take out meal into something elegant (Pinterest)

5. "Ghostly International’s newest limited edition art release from Andy Gilmore has launched at The Ghostly Store and it is more than awesome. We wrote about Andy’s amazing intricate geometric work back in 2011 and I thought it might be fun to see what he’s up to. Finding inspiration in nature and then translating that into a complex geometric grid is what Andy does best and so I was over the moon (pun intended) to see new prints from him that incorporates his signature computer graphics floating in outer space paired with natural images like nebulas."
