Congrats Christina & Joe Marino!
I recently made this card for a very good friend's wedding. She's a fan of my work and my blog, so I though I'd show my appreciation by making something special for her.
I tried to do a "double layer" doodle, but it didn't come out quite like how I wanted. I wish the pencil doodle in the background came out a little darker so you could see it through the marker doodle outline better.
I wish the newlyweds the best on their honeymoon and for the many years to come! Congratulations again!!

I've got it cover-ed
I bought this large sketch book about a year ago just for my doodles, I started doodling on the front with a silver marker pen. I JUST finished. I wouldn't call it being lazy, I didn't like how I started, so I just didn't finish it... and I still don't like how it turned out. Oh well, at least it's done.
The back cover is still blank... hmmmm
I also realized the sketch a day for 100 days isn't something I want to continue, I don't plan on doing many still life drawings... maybe a few paintings.... but I think I should focus on my doodling. That's something I love and something I'd enjoy doing everyday. So I'm going to focus on that instead.

Weekend Sketches
Ok so I missed Friday's sketching... you caught me. But here is Saturday (left) and Sunday (right). It's coming along slowly... I am definitely not at 30 minute sketches yet... these have been taking longer. Maybe I have to stop picking hard things (like the back of the chair and the perspective of the coffee cup).
PS Last week's "Montana brochures" joke was a Brian Regan joke.

New Shirts
I got these two new shirts from shirt.woot! The top one is "Tooney Fish" haha get it, tuna fish. It's kind of mean... it shows patrick, sponge bob, squidward, ariel, ursula, mr crab, nemo and the yellow fish from Ariel i can't remember the name of, all dead in a can of tuna fish. But I thought it was a funny play on words.
The second one is a girl doodling at her desk at school... very VERY fitting.
I did do my daily sketches, I'll post a bunch of them tomorrow!

Daily Sketch #2

A Sketch a day...
So I decided to get back to basics and do some sketching... once I get back into the swing of things I'll aim for 10 or 30 minute sketches... until then I'm slow and awkward and this one took me awhile. (I'm so used to cartoons or abstract!!)
I REALLY want to do one sketch a day for 100 days. I am REALLY REALLY going to try to do this! I can spare 10 minutes right?! If I can't spare 10 minutes I need to rearrange my schedule, (maybe pick up some Montana brochures)
**Side Note** Whoever can tell me where the 'Montana brochures' joke is from will win a doodle print or card set or notebook of their choosing. Just comment on this post with your answer by Monday.

Wayback Wednesday
The title of the today's blog says it all... way-back Wednesday! I'm pulling one out of the back of the closet.
This is a piece I did for my design fundamentals project. We had to show gradient through the morphing of shapes, in this case 4 circles and the shifting of the "stages". And yes... it is done in my favorite medium, sharpie marker. haha

I'm back.. for real this time!
Hey! Happy Tuesday that thinks it's a Monday! I am sorry for my absence recently. I've been sick this past week and didn't do any art work. But I did get to paint for a few hours last night AND did some sketching! My sketch isn't done yet, but I can share the progress of my painting since it seems like I will NEVER be finished!
I worked on the yellow (it's hard to see) and I touched up the green.

Doodle... Cars?!
I thought this was SO cool, talk about taking doodling to a whole new level! (Uncle Chris, I'm sure you'll appreciate these pictures, especially the one below)
Artist's commentary from the website:
"First off... I'm going to bet 50% of people are going to hate this .. but i'm ok with that. I did take "inspiration" from the "sharpie lamborghini" (props to him, this took me about 12 hours) , but I have been doing artwork with sharpies for a while so this isn't my first time at this (AKA don't try this at home).
I will do a proper photoshoot when my new wheels come in in a couple of weeks, but I know you all had to see this!
Yes.. I painted my car with a sharpie paint pen...and here are the pics to prove it and to keep people from thinking it is a vinyl wrap. enjoy and comment all you like."

MAJOR props to the artist!
