A twist on an old favorite

This USED to be my adidas doodle... but I drew (and by drew I mean traced) most of the original doodle, left out the logo, and I am now filling it in.

I am redoing this doodle for the juried art show I mentioned earlier this week.

Done-zo!

YES!!!!! FINALLY!!! It's all done!! I submitted it to the Adidas art contest sponsored by deviantArt a few minutes ago.

As much as I wanted to be finished with this project, it is a 100% certainty that I will finish this blog and doodle in my sketchbook in bed. haha.... I can't get enough!

Have a great weekend all!

T-minus 13 hours...

So I am REALLY happy with how this is turning out. I just have a few small details to finish up but it's due at 11:59pm TONIGHT! Eeek!

The logo looks weird right now, but I still have to make it white/black... that shouldn't be too hard. it will definitely pop when I do.... Hopefully it doesn't over power the color... hmm. I'm sure I'll figure it out!

A dash of color!

I'm just working on the colors... so don't judge it! But I am experimenting with two options:

1. dark/vibrant background and light lines
2. light background and dark/vibrant lines

either way I am going to fill the doodle with mid tones.... hopefully I will have an answer for you tomorrow!

Stay tuned!

Adidas is done...almost!

I am excited! I finished my Adidas doodle! It came out a lot better than I imagined and predicted. I am happy with it and definitely won't redo it.

But.............. I have A TON of photoshopping to on it to make it look the way I want it to before I can enter it. I have to add color and make all the black different colors. Daunting...

Ancient curses and car chases!

I am quoting one of the blogs i subscribe to (Be Awesome by Kevin Keele) when I say:

"I won't bore you with the details of my long absence. I will only tell you it involved an ancient curse, a mad scientist, and high speed car chases...leaving me no time to draw or paint. Either way, hopefully I can now begin updating regularly again."

Here is the progress on my Adidas doodle:

Miraculously I did most of this in one day... not today. Today I wasn't on my doodling game.

I'm not totally happy with it... there doesn't leave much room for color, which is one of the judging criteria. I may do a second entry if I have time.

ATC/AECO Card #2

Card #2 done... 18 more to go!

I also started the Adidas art contest I blogged about a few weeks ago. So I'll probably post update pictures every so often. I plan on working on it most days since I have a May 15th deadline and I have a large space to fill with doodles.

New Project... who can keep count!

So I have been sick since Saturday.. yes last Saturday. This is day 7 :( Not fun. So not much art going on here...

But I did find another new project/art contest:
http://news.deviantart.com/article/76118/

"

Our friends at adidas are celebrating 60 years of soles and stripes by throwing a house party all year long. They featured musical artists, the Ting Tings, fingerpainting all over the walls and anywhere else they felt like. Check out the film below for footage of the painting party and get inspiration to get messy!

It’s OUR turn with adidas sponsoring our very own fingerpainting contest. Think about how you’d integrate the adidas Originals 3 stripes into your creative expression of originality, celebration, and style.

Paint with your fingers, your feet, your face, your mouse, your tablet, Photoshop, Corel, whatever. Remember, you can fingerpaint on everything and with anything you please. Digital and traditional artists, sculptors, photographers – – all are welcome to get creative and get messy to get YOUR art on the wall in the NYC adidas Originals store."

I think I'm going to give it a shot with some colorful doodles! I have until May 15th... so that's plenty of time!
